Congratulations to Wayne Barker, a Class 2 HGV Driver based at our Newton-le-Willows depot, for his recent success at the PCA World Championships as part of Team GB. The PCA, or Professional Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, holds open bodybuilding and fitness competitions for people of all levels of experience.
Wayne first began his journey in bodybuilding at the start of 2021, competing in a men’s physique class show. Despite having no expectations, he ended up placing a impressive 7th out of 14 competitors in his very first attempt.
A week later, Wayne competed again in the PCA Masters Men’s Physique North-West and took home the win. This victory earned him an invitation to compete in the PCA British Championships in October, where he finished a very respectable 6th place in the UK.
As a result of his strong performance, Wayne was invited to represent PCA Team GB at the world championships on November 20th, 2022. He went on to place within the top 10 at the Birmingham town hall, a fantastic achievement.
Wayne’s dedication and passion for the sporting lifestyle has made him a leader in the industry. He works in our Non-Mechanical division and has been a valued member of our team since 2021.
