We recognise the vital role that community plays in our growth and success. Without the support of our communities, there’s little opportunity for expansion. One Stop Hire’s national coverage allows us to engage with numerous communities beyond our Head Office vicinity, which we’re constantly looking to do.
Our Sponsorships – Who We Sponsor
We sponsor a range of groups and causes, with the majority based in the Northwest. These groups and causes are impactful and demonstrate a true passion for the areas they cover. This is why we believe that providing the resource to these individuals is vital to ensure their mission is achieved.
Here are just a few that we support.
Inspire Youth Zone
Inspire Youth Zone provides young people with opportunities to try new activities, learn new skills and meet new friends.
In 2010, Steve & Danielle Hitchen became patrons of Wigan Youth Zone which is part of the OnSide charitable network. Steve was Enterprise Ambassador there for 3 years. He took a group of 13 & 14 year olds through to the national semi-finals of the prestigious Young Enterprise organisation that runs through high schools throughout the UK.
Hindley ARLFC
A lot of our staff at One Stop Hire have sporting backgrounds and are involved with grass root sports. We support this with the sponsorship of local youth football teams such as Hindley ARLFC which is an Amateur Rugby League club formed in 1991. Hindley ARLFC is based in Wigan with teams playing from ages 7 to open age.
In March this year, One Stop Hire supported Hindley ARLFC’s kit launch. With the support of Wigan Warrior Coach Matty Pete and Warrington Wolves player Sam Powell, the evening went exceptionally well and provided the necessary kit for the team to represent.
Christie Cancer Charity
In June 2022, one of our very original customers Seddon Construction Group celebrated the 125th anniversary. They set out to raise £1m for the Christie Cancer Charity.
One Stop Hire put on a huge national 5-a-side football event and took over the whole of Darwen FC for the day. A total of 32 teams competed for our customer, supplier and depot network which raised £10,000 in one day alone.
Boxing
Earlier this year, our Sales & Commercial Director’s son (Jimmy). Decided to take on his first set of skill bouts. We were extremely proud of what he achieved, all his hard work certainly paid off. Boxing isn’t an unfamiliar sport in the business, our Sales & Commercial Director Darren Smith did plenty of it in his time and passed all his skills and knowledge down to his son who is certainly putting his opponents through their paces. Jimmy is kitted out in his fresh One Stop merch, representing our logo and spreading the brand during his events!
Jimmy isn’t the only amateur boxer that we support, our Preston Branch Manager Martin Hastings competed in an amateur boxing match and won last month. It goes to show that hard work, dedication and plenty of support can go a long way.
